Sample lesson

This is only part of a lesson.

Dyslexic people do not learn to read and spell by conventional methods.

They need to be taught the sounds of letters and the structure of words.

It is much easier for them to learn a rule that applies to 100s of words that to learn 100 words!

This programme deals with the sounds of letters, the structure of words and the rules of spelling.

Each lesson is multi-sensory and the whole programme incorporates rule-based phonics.

The course begins with very basics and builds upon the foundation working to the more advanced rules and concepts.

The course is intended to be followed from the beginning so that nothing is taken for granted about the user’s knowledge and no valuable skills are missed.

Skipping the basics is like building a house without foundations – it all falls down!

The user can work through the lessons at his or her own pace and help via e-mail will be available.

The lessons contain :-

Alphabet and sequencing work

Review of previous work so that nothing is forgotten

        New sounds to improve reading

        Spelling rules and practise

        Audio spelling practise

Important stuff like grammar and punctuation

        Learned words

        Fun stuff

Answers (not to be looked at first!)
